This was one of my homework assignment’s for Design Kickstart, a School of Motion course. Here’s the context for this project: Nutek is a fictional research firm that focuses on human interactions with technology. Every year they put on a conference to promote their new advancements in ground breaking technological research. This year’s conference will be held in Melbourne, Australia.
Create styleframes for one of this year’s conference session openers. The conference is centered around Nutek’s advanced research themes. Emphasize these themes by using typography, color, and the brand’s pictograms. Try to find ways to incorporate imagery of the city of Melbourne. The overall feeling of this year’s conference is clean, modern, and forward thinking. The jumbo monitors in the conference center have a resolution of 3780 x 1080, so design the artboards accordingly.
Motion Notes: Abstract moving lines/shapes create the structure of the background. The star pictogram animates into frame and activates the magenta “thinking orb,” which represents imagination and innovation. The tagline is revealed.
Motion Notes: The pictogram morphs into another branded shape, and images of Melbourne are revealed. The thinking orb expands to highlight the research themes. The typography scrolls horizontally, each line in moving in alternating directions.
Motion Notes: The lines in the abstract pictogram reform and reshape to create an open area of magenta to highlight the title of the conference session: Artificial Dynamics.
Motion Notes: The pictogram morphs again into another branded shape, and the logo is revealed.
